Windows Phone is an operating system developed for mobile phones and tablets by Microsoft and is the successor to its Windows Mobile platform. Unlike Windows Mobile, it is aimed at the consumer market rather than the business market. HTC, LG and Samsung are the main manufacturers selling Windows Phones at the moment, though there are only a few to choose from if this is your operating system of choice. Windows Phone 8 users will benefit from a compact version of Windows Office Suite including access to SharePoint-based documents. Something to be aware of in terms of storage is that even if your Windows Phone 8 comes with an SD card, the phone will stop working properly if you remove it, and the SD card cannot be read by another phone, device, or PC. Microsoft say the memory card should be thought of as an integrated part of the phone and not as a way of increasing storage. If that was the case one can't work out why it was initially added ass built in memory from the start. There aren't a great deal of apps for Winblows Phone 8 like there are with Android and Apple's iOS so if having the latest games and apps is an important factor, perhaps Winblows isn't the operating system of choice for you.
